This is a process (not a program) by which adults and older children are received into the church. Possible candidates for this process are:
Unbaptized adults or older children who may wish to learn more about the Catholic faith.
Baptized Christians who would like to learn more about and possibly join the Catholic Church.
To request Baptism for your child, please call the office at 585-223-5500 and ask for Sister Barbara Baker to schedule a conversation. Preparation time gives time for parents to reflect on their own faith and church connection. For older children, please see the section on RCIA.
In accordance with the Diocesan Policy, children are encouraged to prepare for the Sacrament of Penance and/or Eucharist as they near the age of seven. Children must have completed one full year of Faith Formation or be enrolled and currently attending a Catholic School the year immediately prior to the year they plan to prepare and receive either sacrament.
First Penance and First Eucharist are recieved in the same year, typically in second grade.
Our expectation and hope is that the family is attending Mass regulary and is fully engaged in the overall process of catechizing and preparing their child to receive these sacraments.

In Confirmation, we are strengthened with gifts of the Holy Spirit to enable us to defend the faith. Our program focuses on growing in knowledge through classes and building a relationship with God through youth ministry. The first gives us the ability to defend the faith while the second increase our desire to defend the faith.
Grade 7, Year 0: must attend Faith Formation in order to be Confirmed in 9th grade
Grade 8+, Year 1: for 22-23 only, students can do Year 1 even if they were not in Faith Formation last year
Grade 9+, Year 2: anyone who completed Year 1 can do Year 2 for Spring 2023 Confirmation
Please refer to the Confirmation page for more details.

Sacrament of Matrimony: Preparing for marriage should be entered into very mindfully. There are parish and diocesan requirements to be fulfilled so couples are fully prepared for this very special sacrament. It is best not to set a date until contacting the parish and scheduling your conversation with our pastoral associate six to nine months ahead of the wedding if possible. Contact the parish office at 585-223-5500 and ask for Sister Barabara Baker and she will be more than happy to assist you.
“If some of you hear the call to follow Christ more closely, to dedicate your entire heart to Him, like the apostles John and Paul, be generous, do not be afraid, because you have nothing to fear when the prize that you await is God himself, for Whom, sometimes without ever knowing it, all young people are searching.”
-Pope John Paul II (Asuncion, Paraguay; May 18, 1988)
